ITINERARY

We’ll meet at 10am for coffee, introductions, a safety briefing and tuition.

We’ll head off into the Northumberland countryside with some native species of birds and our falconer will place them in beautiful natural settings.

Our small group sizes will allow everybody to receive individual and group tuition throughout the day as we work with our beautiful subjects.

We’ll take a short break for lunch (we can still chat about all things Fujifilm and wildlife photography!)

Throughout the afternoon session we’ll continue to work with the birds in different locations.

Towards the end of the session at 5pm, we’ll regroup for tea and coffee and have a questions and answers session.

YOUR COURSE LEADER: ALAN HEWITT

Alan is a professional wildlife photographer, freelance writer, photography workshop and holiday guide. Alan leads wildlife photography workshops and holidays throughout the UK, Kenya, South Africa and Europe. Alan now uses Fujifilm cameras and lenses exclusively for his work.

WHAT KIT DO YOU NEED?

Alan uses the X-H1 and X-T2 plus the 50-140mm f/2.8 and 100-400mm f/4.5-f/5.6 for the majority of his photography. On this day we will have X-T3 cameras and a selection of telephoto lenses to test. You will also be given a 16GB SD card to take home on the day. Be sure to bring your own fast cards too as you will shoot a lot.

Some photographers find telephoto lenses can become a little bit heavy with continuous use so a tripod or monopod may also be useful.

Prepare for all weather conditions so you should wear layers, have waterproofs and walking boots / shoes.
