MORE THAN FULL FRAME

The FUJIFILM GFX100S camera features a high-resolution, 102-megapixel large format sensor in a highly compact body, making power and precision even more portable. Utilising its back-side illuminated sensor and quad-core X-Processor 4 imaging engine, the GFX100S produces images with outstanding quality and colour reproduction.


The GFX100S records 4K 30p footage in 10-bit F-Log or 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW at bit rates up to 400Mbps and in 17:9 ratio. Switching from stills to video mode is simplified thanks to a new lever next to the mode dial; a first for the GFX system. This dial features PASM control, plus the inclusion of six customisable mode options.


Alongside the launch of GFX100S, the brand new Film Simulation mode, Nostalgic Neg., makes its first appearance. When applied to images, this creates a softer look and boosts the saturation of shadow areas. This addition means that the GFX100S offers a total of 19 Film Simulation modes, and each is capable of achieving creative looks straight out of the camera.

DIFFERENCES TO GFX100

While the GFX100S has inherited many features from its groundbreaking predecessor, the GFX100, there are also some differences. Price, size and weight are the most obvious. At 900g, this camera is 500g lighter than the GFX100 and around 30% smaller. Some of these reductions are due to lighter componentry, notably the in-body image stabilisation system and shutter mechanism.


The viewfinder in the GFX100S is fixed and has a resolution of 3.69million dots, plus it has one battery rather than two offering up to 460 shots per charge. Maximum video recording time is twice that of the GFX100 - up to 120 minutes.
